Sharing With the Writer's League Can Be Easy, We Appreciate Your Support!

Since recent state funding budget cuts have drastically impacted funding for the arts across Texas, your contribution goes even farther in helping us in our mission to serve Texas writers and promote and celebrate the word as art across Texas. There are several ways you can share!

1. Randall's Rebate. Before you use your Randall's card for purchases, go to the store's office or ask the checker to swipe and code your card with WLT's number (#277). A portion of all purchases will be donated to the League. You only need to have the card coded once.

2. Gifts to the League. WLT also accepts donor gifts in any amounts. Have you considered giving membership gifts to support the League's scholarship program? All monetary gifts are tax deductible.

3. Another Way Texas Shares. Do you work for a state agency, a state university, or the City of Austin? If so, you can give to the Writers' League of Texas through payroll deduction where you work.

Are you employed by Travis County, the federal government, or the City of Houston? You can give through those employers, too!

The Writers' League of Texas is also a part of workplace-giving campaigns in other cities, counties, school districts, water systems, metro systems, and some private sector businesses. It is all made possible through our membership in Another Way Texas Shares (AWTS), a federation of 44 nonprofit organizations here in Texas. AWTS was founded in 1992 by a group of nonprofit agencies and is still a democratic association of its members. Through this collaborative effort, these member nonprofits gain an additional stream of revenue.

Payroll deduction is so easy. Just indicate the amount you want deducted from your paycheck as a tax deductible contribution to the Writers' League of Texas and you will never notice the money is gone. But the Writers' League will notice your contribution AND appreciate your gift.

Brochures from AWTS, which lists all 44 members of the federation, are available on request. Just send an email to anotherway@sbcglobal.net and let them know how many copies you would like to share with others. Or visit their website by clicking on the AWTS logo above.
