The Eighth Annual

Teddy Children's Book Award

sponsored by
Writers' League of Texas
and
Barnes & Noble Booksellers

Entries for the Eighth Annual Teddy Children's Book Award, sponsored by the Writers' League of Texas with support from Barnes & Noble Booksellers, will be accepted through May 31, 2003. Entries must have been published from June 1, 2002 through May 31, 2003 and may include any children's book--fiction or nonfiction, picture book to young adult.

The award was created to honor an outstanding book for children published by a member of the Writers' League of Texas. The name, the Teddy Children's Book Award, was chosen because teddy bears, like children's books, are classic, time-honored, childhood symbols cherished by children and adults alike.

Prizes

A $1,000 cash award will be presented to the winner at a reception in the fall. Special citations may be presented for other children's books that show outstanding merit. Only finalists will be notified prior to the awards event.
