"Hey! This sounds pretty good without the conductor!!"
"Now, then, I want you to play up to measure 43, skip to 77, return to 44 and play it all the way through. But skip measure 95 on the repeat. And at 127, change the Maestoso to an Allegro unless you have an Andante, in which case alternate between Legato and Modernato! Lets hear the trumpets, Ready?"

"When I was your age, I had to walk ten miles in the snow carrying this tuba!"

note 1: "snow" is that white stuff commonly seen up north from early Fall to late Spring!

note 2: "tuba" is an instrument your parents insisted that you play because they thought it was wimpy to play anything smaller!

"When do we get a break?"

"Boy, are they gullible around here! I told them I hadn't played sax in 30 years! And I am only 31!! Guess they really were trying to recruit new members!! I'll just try to sit next to the horn section - maybe no one will notice!!"
